I had a bunch of scanned documents i had to quickly convert to text. I polled my fellow FemBots and GuyBots, and here are the recommendations:

-Evernote (2 people) note: also handwriting to text
-Acrobat http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/acrobat_ocr_make_your_scanned/
-Online OCR (3 people) onlineocr.net
-Wondershare PDF Editor Pro
-Paperport Professional (not cheap)

<<These have not been used by anyone, but given as possible options>>
-Richoh’ Image to Text app http://www.ricohinnovations.com/imagetotext-iphone
-Prismo ($10) Prismo
-Perfect OCR ($3) Perfect OCR
-Paperfile.net http://www.paperfile.net/

Also would like to add MyScriptMemo as a free app to convert handwriting to text on an iPad
